Breast cancer is treated by a combination of surgery and adjuvant treatments such as chemotherapy, radiotherapy and endocrine therapy. Surgical options may include breast conservation (lumpectomy), often combined with oncoplastic techniques to preserve breast shape, or mastectomy to remove all breast tissue. For patients having mastectomy, immediate reconstruction is usually possible.
Your treatment will be planned by a multi-disciplinary team of breast cancer experts and is individualised for each case. You will be supported by our specialist Breast Care Nurse, Stella Ward.
